The Journey of Jon
Everyone loves to know about the person they're going to be working with so I thought I'd make a brief and quick back story about me...
Going back to 1989, in the golden age of babies, an incredibly talented boy arrived on the scene. Born in the UK, he would forever change the world of entertainment.
His name was Daniel Radcliffe and would go on to be a wizard.
Elsewhere in that very same year, up north in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, I was born and heralded a new generation of Mirleys. The following years, my two brothers would arrive and prove that sequels are never as good, despite what Radcliffe would try and have us think.
By the time I was around 10, the cuteness had started to wear off and I had a bit of an ugly phase. So I’ll skip forward to the point where I became a bit better looking…
Now 36 and based in Leicester (the home of Walkers crisps, Kasabian, and now myself) I work as a freelance video editor and create motion graphics alongside a huge range of brands and companies from across the country. I've had the incredible opportunities to bring in my skills with video editing, motion graphics using After Effects and even bringing to life CAD designs using various 3D software!
In that time I've also gained an extensive understanding of the entire video process. Working on location right through to seeing the end product go online or on TV.
I’ve also worked with some of the most talented people I could ever have hoped to meet and I’ve learnt something from every single one of them. Meeting people like that is a big part of why I enjoy what I do.
